April Totman thrives on helping people. As Operations Manager at Acadia Wealth Planning, April is integral to our day-to-day operations, handling a wide variety of responsibilities. She manages client experience and relations, including scheduling and event planning. April also oversees technical integration for the office, as well as quality control and internal workflow review.
April brings 20+ years of client support and business management experience to her role at Acadia. Most recently, she founded a consulting firm, working with healthcare facilities to obtain and maintain proper licensing. April’s firm built off over her nearly 15 years as a nurse and manager in hospital, assisted living, and behavioral health settings in Maine. Prior to that, she was a high school English teacher and sports coach at Camden Hills Regional High School in Rockport, Maine.
April received a BA in English from Wheaton College, a Master of Education from the University of Southern Maine, and an Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Central Maine Community College. She is a current board member of the American Society of Addiction Nurses, helping to make a difference with those struggling with substance use issues.
Outside of work, you’ll most likely find April somewhere outdoors, usually with her business and life partner, Craig! Acadia National Park is one of her happy places where she can do almost all her favorite things: hiking, running, biking, swimming, and exploring. April’s other passion is her two sons, one of whom currently attends the University of Maine studying Finance & Business, and the other who is in high school pursuing the culinary arts and music.
